BOb on a serious not hope you were not effected by the severe weather that blew through parts of CHi town , sounds and looks like it was tough , Our business up there was still without power as of late last night but the back up generators are keeping up thus far but eating diesel fuel ... anyway hope you and your family were not effected to bad .. 3D
Thanks brother!
We're actually okay. SOme of my friends got it pretty bad, but no one was hurt, thank goodness. Our generator has made the rounds among friends, that's for sure. Can you believe there are still some areas that don't have power... like blocks away from my house.
I was very fortunate considering all that happened. We lost power at work right when the storm hit. the rain came in the building sideways till we were able to get all the garage doors closed manually. None of the computers took a big hit, so that's good. I rode the scooter to work and rode it home too, so thank goodness the rain and wind cleared up by the time I was able to leave work. Riding home, though, was crazy. No traffic lights, trees all over the streets, and just a silent, erie feeling all about the town. When I got home, obviously the power was out. But I didn't have any flooding in my house at all. after only like 4 hours or so, my power was back up and my parents who live a couple miles away had their power up the same night also. So like I said, I was very fortunate. Although the weather service says no, there were reports of a tornado touching down about 5 blocks from my house. that area was wrecked... trees are town, shingles were blown off of roofs, siding is hanging from houses, and there still is no power there. My house had a coulple twigs with leaves on them in my yard. I'd say, for as devastating as the storm could have been, I was one heck of a lucky guy!
Okay. I'm going to shut up now.
Thanks for your concern. Hope you get your power rollin' soon.
Do you have business in the chicagoland area as well, or are you talking about what you got hit with out by you? My sister lives in peoria and she said she didn't really get hit too bad, but there definitely was some yucky weather happening.
