When I read that book Cold Beer & Crocodiles(I've mentioned it before and recommend it to everybody), the dude was always eating Austrailian Meat Pies. What are these exactly? Are they like regular meat pies?

I Looked for that book when i was at a book store once. But they didn't have a copy there. I asked about it and they said I could order it. But I just didnt' think I was ready for that kind of committment.

I used to buy books too but then I found this place where they let you "borrow" books and bring them back when you're done.






I call that place Barnes & Noble.

Basically an Aussie meat pie is better than any other in the world. We use actualy beef steak mince (not offal) smothered ina gravy and it is encased in pastry making for one delicious treat!

Offal is like Liver, Kidneys, Brains, Intestine etc. Officially meat pies only have to contain 25% actual beef but many companies in Aus. promote the fact their pies are 100% Aussie Beef

Well, the Patriots pull off another play-off win. What an exciting game! Just when it looked like all was lost, (down by 11 points with only 5 minutes left, Brady throws an interception) the Patriots find a way to win. The Chargers had been talking trash all week and even already had a victory parade planned. It was disrespectful and the Pats came into the came pissed. Now it's off to face the Colts, the winner of that game goes to the Super Bowl.( Oh yeah, da Bears won in overtime. )

well the bears seem to play just well enough to win , nothing more , I found it funny the announcers before the Pats games were talking alot about Brady being in so many playoff games and having 0 interceptions , then out of the blue he throws 3 sunday ..

I have the feeling that the pats will have a tough time with the colts as there talking some of 2 black coaches meeting for the first time in the super bowl , that being the COLTS VS THE BEARS .. and lets face it its not all about winning its about ratings and getting money to the teams and the networks ... ... the colts sold out on tickets in 5 minutes after they went on sale .. We sold our season tickets for the bears about 6 games back and they included first chance tickets for playoff games , I wouldnt go up there and sit in the cold anyway .

The one fact you're missing is the Patriots are a better team than the Colts. Not that they can't lose, anything can happen on any given Sunday. The Patriots have sold out 180 consecutive games, ever since Bob Kraft bought the team. When you win three Super Bowls, tickets aren't easy to get. And if we end up facing the Bears in the Super Bowl it's going to be a for them.

the point you have missed is the forces of evil often decide games like what are coming up , dont ever think its all decided on the field , some of those dropped passes turn out to be big money makers for the guy that dropped them .. So speaking of "proper football" Newcastle utd got hammered last night in the fa cup by Birmingham who are in the league below us, how the hell did they manage to loose 5-1 to such a shody team after managing to beat spurs 3-2 away only a few days earlier is amazing. Soccer and rugger, Manchester United in soccer, and Ospreys (Swansea/Neath) in rugby. Thank God the season is starting.

I don't follow the rugby myself, I am more of a Rugby League fan and a football fan. I follow Liverpool in the EPL and I don't really have a team in the UK Super League, I just follow the progress of the Aussies playing over there... as I do in the Premier League

I wouldn't have a clue about anything to do with the NFL. It had a bit of a cult following here when I was in high school in the 90's, I used to watch the Superbowl but that's it.

What I find with America's major sports is that they go too long. A 48 minute game of football lasts half a day or more, so many stoppages and commercials, time outs, coach challenge's etc... I lose interest

Why do they wear all that body armour in your "football"? Rugby League (and Rugby Union) would kill them. The best part of your football is watching the Cheer leaders!

It's all about safety. Those players are getting paid millions of dollars, nobody wants to see them get hurt. Plus, the average linebacker is probably 275 pounds and can run 40 yards in 11 seconds. These guys are huge, strong and when they hit somebody they hit really hard. Without protection, a football players career would be less that one whole game.
