How is that considered mid west. More like central.
Do a lot of Canadian pronounce it wrong? I knew how it was prononced but I guess there are some dumb people out there.
My hometown is real and it rhymes with vagina, not Re-geeee-na like Americans say. It really is the city that rhymes with fun.
And that is all.
Now that is funny. You ever hear the song.... It's hard to rhyme-a word like vagina? I knew how to pronouce Regina, but it was the Saskatchewan that I thought was made up. Never heard of that before.
A lot of people mispronouce it Illinois. Not necessarily Canadians. You'd be surprised how many people from Illinois mispronounce it. We're pretty lazy and ignorant here in America, so I've heard.
As far as why it's considered miswest...

you got me there. Probably has something to do with the westward expansion of the US. at one point in time Illinois probably seemed pretty far west from all the good stuff that was happening in the US, then it wasn't quite as west, then it was just sort of in the middle kinda. you could probably compare to the fact that a mini computer is actually pretty huge. (you might not know what I'm talking with that one. Not sure how much of a computer nerd you are). Progress doesn't stop, but you can't redo the whole naming scheme cuz people will freak out. that could be why I'm from the midwest and not the midcenter.
another point of interest... I would say we
don't have much of an accent in relation to other regions in the US. We talk like the people on TV and in movies talk.
And that, my friend, is all
oops. Left out that cruical word
