Funnily enough sticking with the threads topic I am a huge fan of the whole grunge movement in the late 80's early 90's. Thankg gof because rock and roll was becoming so cliche...
Apart from that alot of aussie bands are in my regular rotation, of which most you wouldn't recognise but if they ever got a start in the states they'd go well. Powderfinger springs to mind... anyone heard of them?

I think I like a little of the harder stuff.. not sure everyone would find it all to appealing.
Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Sepultura, Opeth, Lamb of God, ThrowDown ....

probably not much of them on your playlist!

This thread hasn't been posted in like forever...
I posted this in my 411 but as only a select few ever grace it's pages... I pose this question here.....
"So, of late my life is being consumed with all things weddings (as Bob would know). I am trying to let bondigirl look after most of the things as she is super pumped about it all, and loves the whole process. I on the other hand love beer.... anyway.
One thing I am adamant on is music. Music for the ceremony, music for the reception etc. I am far from being a traditionalist so wherever possible I am using contemporary music. Pop, rock whatever.
I am compiling a list of songs I want to use but I just have to decide on when and how to use them. I am 99% or first dance will be to a song called "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. Also, I am thinking of using "Woman" by Wofmother during the time I will be taking bondigirls garter off.
Anyway, to the point. I wan't to surprise bondigirl with a song during the reception. You know, me with an axe and a mic belting out an acoustic tune.... but what? I am agonising over song choice. Bondigirl isn't as into music as I am, so choosing her fav song is hard because it changes weekly...
Can anyone help me out???"

You'll a kick out of this, but rent "West Side Story" ( I know it's a bit campy) and learn the song "One Hand, One Heart." I've heard it used at more than on wedding and if it is done well, it works. I have never heard of a groom doing it, but in the movie that is its original context. Unfortuantely it usually gets sung by some third rate soprano that is good friends with the bride. (go ahead and laugh if you'd like!

) But hell it is Bernstein's & Sondhein's more memorable colaborations. It is also fairly short so that it isn't too hard to pic up.

Thanks for the suggestion but what I highlighted is the problem. I don't want what everyone has has. Otherwise I'd get a Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion mix happening and everyone would be close to suicide!

a question for you boys and girls, I'm looking for a song but I don't know the title nor the performer. I can only tell you that the ref consists of the sentence 'remember me' that's repeated a couple of times. First I thought it was made by Moby but apparently it's not. It has that Moby style tough, can someone help me?

^^^ I'll look into it for you
I'm a big fan of DnB, breaks and Madonna. I have a boyfriend who spends the majority of his time downloading new electronica, and the majority of the time, it's incredible.
I've also recently come to the conclusion that ColdPlay are a big bunch of pussies from England. However, on that note... Chris Martin has an amazing voice that works so very well while mixed in with Filter and the Chemical Brothers...
