I usually do, but had to work and then spend time with visiting family. I may still go out today, but those leftovers are staring at me right now.
ontippytoes
Hell no!! I don't like shopping to begin with. I've been working all day.
hott1976

Did you tell the clerk you bought it from what you were going to be using it for? popc1.gif

I have a feeling that it was all the clerk could think of while hott made her purchases.

Or maybe hott helped the clerk with his/her break. wink.gif I know I'd offer to help a guy if he had a stiffie.

I have a question that is semi-related to this thread:

Have any females ever been approached by a man in a store asking advice on sizing for his wife/girlfriend. Is that strange for a guy to do when he is shopping for his beloved?

I have been approached and I wasn't sure if the guy was for real or was trying to pick me up. I've often wanted to approach guys when shopping for my hubby but haven't because I was afraid they'd think I was picking up on them. I think it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do.

Cool, thanks 2thumbs.gif I was in Old Navy today and unsure of my guesstimation on the size shirt I had picked up and wanted so badly to ask one of the saleswomen, but turned completely chicken because I didn't know how to phrase my question. Oh, the joys of shopping...

lol Well, if it's a saleswoman, just ask! Explain to her, in your lease slimy tone, lol, what you need. Sales people GENERALLY are happy to help.

Well, asking the saleswoman is completely different than approaching a strange woman. She gets paid to make sure you have the help you need. She might also be on commission and want you to ask her, so she can make the sale. Then, if you buy it, hold on to the receipt, because there's a good chance it's going to be exchanged anyway. That's why the malls are packed after Christmas.
mountainlust
So, is it okay to say something like, "Hi, I'm trying to buy the right size shirt for a friend and you kind of look like you might be her size. Would this size shirt fit you?"

Sure is!
mountainlust
Haha! That wasn't so hard...

To the sales cleck just say that you don't know how women's sizes work. When she asks something like, "How tall is she." or "do you think she'd be a small, medium or large" point out someone else in the store who IS about her size. The clerk will know what size she is.

Well, next time I hope you have enough time to get to the highlands, east atlanta and little 5 points. And for "authentic" atlanta cuisine, try Mary Mac's Tea Room.

Black Friday = the first day of holiday shopping season (correct?)

southern cooking. As a native, i've come to know it as fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turkey, collards, squash, etc...
If you have high blood pressure or cholesterol, you might not thrive on this diet ;-)

I will definitely try to go to that place!! They might have to kick me out.

Yea. The-day-after-Thanksgiving-sales are supposed to jumpstart the holiday shopping season and get businesses out of the red and into the black. But a lot of people take "black" to mean people fighting over stuff, long lines, and no parking.

Isn't Black Friday wonderful? Saving all of that money and in exchange we are left with the feeling someone slammed our entire body with a 2x4 over and over and over......

I'm listing some sites to prepare everyone for next year's Black Friday. In case you are not aware, Black Friday is the last Friday in November and is supposed to be the first day of the Christmas shopping season. This is also the day that determines whether a retailer will make a profit for the year-or make it in the Black. This is also the day that the most vile and unscrupulous of people go shopping, giving another definition for the word Black.

It's worthy to note that these two sites get access to retailers ads before they are published and post them for everyone to see, keeping their lawyers really, really busy smile.gif These sites are maintained everyday throughout the year, so check them often if you're a thrifty shopper.

While you are looking around these sites, educate yourself on 'Cyber Monday'-think of that day as Black Friday for the Internet.

That's a great tactic in the States as well-get
drunk enough that you can puke on those that
try to take the stuff you're trying to buy.

It's typically when the holiday shopping gets into full swing. Lots of unbelievable deals or steals. Some crazy's out there though! Definetly long lines, no parking..patience is a virtue on that day!
