There are lots of busty ladies on here so I was just wondering...is DD a size between D and E or is it larger than E? Being female you'd think I'd know, but my bosoms are small so I've never ventured up that side of the scale before. wink.gif

I am a dude but I like looking a tits wink.gif

In North America, anyway, DD is the size between D and E. Why there is a DD and not a CC or a BB I have no idea. Maybe someone else can 'splain.

bra sizes and their logic completely depend on the manufacturer. sometimes DD to one company, may be E to another. one company may have d DD DDD, and another D, DD, E. there's not much of a standard in that area. one thing is for sure, though, that it's all based on a ratio of sorts. the cup size relates to a comparison of the band length. if you look at the cup size teir of any manufacturer, each cup size in relation to the previous is another step in cup size... no matter its letter designation. Usually those steps are measured in inches greater across the bust than the measurement of the band.

and another thing is also for sure... every female breast that I've had the good fortune to come in contact with has been a perfect handful.

I have little to no concept of how the bra sizes work, I just know that they differ in Australia in comparison to North America. The measurement of the body is done in dress size rather than inches

Hmm ok, interesting. smile.gif

How come 'AA' is smaller than 'A' .. yet 'DD' is bigger than 'D'?

That one has always thrown me.

Some things man was never meant to know!
little_n_soft
Just a thought about the 'A' sizes, I think it may have something to do with the fact that you can get AAA as the lowest size and since A cups are at the lower end of the range it's probably just easier to have a single letter as the main principal size. It's a bit like batteries, you get AAA, then AA which is bigger. tongue.gif Doesn't explain D and DD though.

Just read this:

"Some manufacturers use size DD but then continue with E, F, G, H, I, J, etc. Others use DDD to represent an E and some go on to use E, EE, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, etc. This can make purchasing a large-cup bra difficult."

I suspect it's just so manufacturers can produce a wider range of fittings and thus satisfy their customers. So they could have a line where DD is larger than a D but smaller than an E, rather than DD being the equivalent of an E.

My wife's sister went for a fitting a few weeks ago, and the sizes have changed somewhat over the years. She has gone from a C to a DD (without her boobs growing) - the salesperson said it was so those younger (9,10 year olds) girls could wear bras. So really; cup size means squat - go by hand size...

Heehee. Ohh this leads on to a whole different thing altogether...anyone up for a debate about how young'uns are growing up too quickly?! I walk into a supermarket and I see 8 year olds wearing black, high-heeled, leather knee high boots and mini skirts with thongs showing at the top, along with dyed hair. I was wearing t-shirts and leggings at that age with cartoon characters on them. blink.gif

I reallyreally hope that I donīt have to see girls like that in here...maybe 12-year-old could wear such a outfit but 8?!?!!? blink.gif

I donīt have to depate with you, I agree with you! My son is 5, sweet innocent and I hope that he will stay that way for few more years...

oh, and cupsizes...I have bras that are 65G and 70F and it took an hour to found a good one, I started from 75C which is too big and small at the same time. I do like my boobs a lot but finding bra (and I really do need bra) and having headache because of the weight isnīt too nice...and itīs not nice when males just stare at your melons (you guys can stare them all that you want tongue.gif)...but I can understand females who feel that they arenīt happy with their boobs. Big or small, I love them all love-smiley-077.gif

Hehe, kids are better when sweet and innocent, it's a shame that they go from being so cute to being a stroppy teenager!

Yeah big and small, all's good. grinning-smiley-003.gif I think ladies with larger boobs do seem to have the most trouble finding bras, though saying that I'm the lower end of the scale and the trouble I have is that I don't need underwiring (horrible stuff, blah, uncomfortable) and yet that's all any shop sells. Unless I go into the kiddies section, which I refuse to do. laughing-smiley-014.gif Luckily I have found a wonderful online site that sells soft bras with no underwiring for smaller busts, so I get it all off there. smile.gif
