It appears Americo-Australianian relations are at an all-time low. Where's that Energizer "Oy" guy or a Yahoo Serious Festival when you need it.

Ok, 3 things....

1. I'm working in a call center

2. When I was 3 years old my mom got lost for five minutes when we were at the San Marino Airport in Italy. She still claims it was ME who ran away... :P

3. As a teenager I had plenty of hobbies and a full schedule; riding, ballet, acting, reading... now I have a day off and I'm thinking if I possibly should get out of the door or even try to get some excercise. Errr... so I mean... I'm lazy.

4. I also suck at math.

My Apologies Gnapp...

Alls I saw was that stereotype that really f*cks me off "Let's throw another shrimp on the barbie" - I have NEVER known anyone to even throw one shrimp on the barbie...

So I present my most humblest apologies to the Canadian Hero that is Gnappster, He of the Picture, Presenter of All That Is Funny...

Sorry fella. Come down under and I'll buy ya a beer...

they sounded perfect to me LOL
but when I hear their version of OUR accents, I cringe, but it's still funny. They elongate their vowels more than us but that's about it.Like they pronounce it MAWM and we say MUM. haha, I said elongate.

And I agree that Americans (which I am proud to be one) shouldn't try any accents(we have enough of our own)!! About the only time I try that is on St. Patty's Day (and only at an attempt of humor) as I have English & Irish heritage in me, along with some Native American.

As it is we have areas with a New England accent, a New York accent, a Southern drawl, a Texas drawl, and then people say we in the midwest have an accent! I'm sure I'm missing some from somewhere, I just find it funny when I go places I hear how I have an accent and the midwest sounds really plain to me! But I must say, all accents sound good to me, as long as it is their own!! It's what makes the world go round!

Y'know, I spoke to a nice Canadian a couple times a few years ago - we almost got together, but it never happened.... in any case, one thing people told me to ask was how exactly they pronounce the word "About" as compared to an Australian.

Well, it definately doesn't sount like "A-boot"... if anything, it sounds like "A-boat". Still - a lot more pleasing than the "A-bow-t" of some American accents, and kind-of quirky, too; though I've always been a fan of most non-US accents (hear them too often - especially from people not from the US)

(Oh, and there wasn't a single "Eh" in any phonecall, so I've no idea where that one started)

-Jak

I just moved here from Canada and they think I'm slow, 'eh?
