I was just looking at my lotto numbers.
I got 4 numbers out of 6 which is good for a whopping $56.00
BUT, I also had the bonus number which does exactly nothing if you have only 4 numbers. But if I would have had 5 numbers plus the bonus I would have won $300,000. The number I needed was 44 and I had 47.
Oh well, I'll probably just go blow it on a bottle of Henry K Duff's Private Reserve.

You should just quit your job and become a full-time Lotto winner, um, guy grinning-smiley-003.gif

On a related note:

I don't usually play the lottery, but I did buy a ticket last week for the hell of it. As luck would have it, I actually matched a number. I was pretty excited. Had it been the Gold Mega Ball that I matched, I would have won two dollars.

I'll work from midnight to eight, come home, sleep for five minutes, eat breakfast, sleep six more minutes, shower, then I have ten minutes to bask in Lisa's love, then I'm off to the power plant, fresh as a daisy.

On a related note, I just read an article in Forbes on how they make instant scratch-off tickets. Sounds boring, but it wasn't. Those tickets have twelve layers and they're are ten secret ingredients that go into the formula to make the scratch-off part. Those tickets have to be practically impossible to counterfeit, some are worth as much as $100,000.Hundred dollar bills are easy to counterfeit compared to these tickets. Sorry to hear Bob lost his lottery dollar. However, he can rest assured that his dollar will be well spent at Mayor Daley's celebration party.

That's the kind of fascinating shit that actually entertains people like me.

and thanks for your sympathy, closeup, but I see it as a dollar well spent on exciting, suspensful entertainment...

then again, that dollar would have purchased much greater entertainment if I was stuffing it in a hot stripper G-string.

When teh move Dick Tracey came out, McDonald's had a promotion where they would give you a scrath-off card. Each card was a potential winner. You had to randomly scratch off 3 of 5 boxes or something like that. If you didn't fuck it up, you'd win whatever prize was on there. I figured out the perfect place to put a slight knick on the boxes to find the two bad squares.

I blame that damn promotion on my exponential weight gain as a youth.

haha, you really are the American gnappster. Even before Dick Tracey they had this Max Headroom scratch and win at Shell convenience stores where, again, every card was a potential winner. I figured out if you made an ever so slight nick in the box you could find out which ones to scratch. The people making minimum wage there couldn't give a shit to examine them close enough to find me out. I only did it a few times as I didn't have the capital to buy a coke product every day to get the scratch card. What can I say, I was 8.

I remember Max Headroom. I was a big fan. I even remember the show on Fox (I think it was fox) that totally flopped, but for some reason I liked it. i remember one episode where they had to hold a flashlight in front of a thing that was supposed to remain pointed at the sun. and at sunset, a bomb would go off or something. By holding a flashing light in front of it, they were able to trick it into thinking the sun stopped moving. laughing-smiley-017.gif but then the batteries were starting to die or something.

It wasn't fat camp, it was image enhancement camp!

I don't know if it was fox, cuz we never HAD fox back then but we got the show. I never really got into it. I was thinking what a great concept it was: Max Headroom and he'll be saying stuff! Never really worked out.
Didn't every episode take place 20 mins in the future?

Here's sort of a funny tangent: I think I read the story in the USA Today. His guy wins 1.5 million in a lottery drawing but hands his ticket in three days past the deadline, which was one year. His reason was he realized he won on Saturday Eve, figured the lotto place would be closed on Sunday. Monday was a federal holiday, so he's there bright and early Tuesday morning. All he had to do was go to anyplace that sold tickets Saturday night to have his ticket validated, but he didn't. There's a lesson here somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is.

What I don't get is how it took him a year to realize he'd won in the first place.
