QUOTE(bondiguy @ Jun 15 2007, 07:17 AM) I never realised how cheap steak is in Australia. In the UK you had to sell a kidney to get a steak and it's not that far off in the states. At a steakhouse if you pay Aus$25 for a steak you are getting a fucking good cut and a good size portion! Beer sounds reasonable  I will not drink light beer though, even if they do spell it LITE you can find cheap steacks here but there just that , the big thing in Vegas is AGED ANGUS Beef , Well I raise angus cattle and hell I cant telll the difference ..LOL The sad part on the beer say like Budweiser , $4.00 a bottle at a tavern and buy a twelve pack at the store for $8.00 .

Beer sounds reasonable  I will not drink light beer though, even if they do spell it LITE Steak in Canada is pretty reasonable, similar to Australia it seems, but again, it all depends on where you go. You can get a good steak for 20 bucks and you can get lousy steak for 40 and vice versa. But when you go to Vegas, go to the Ellis Island Casino. It's a couple blocks off the Strip. It's just a hole in the wall place. Restaurant/pub and a casino. But if you want a good cheap meal, this is your ticket. Order the steak special, it's not on the menu so you have to request it from your server. For $4.95 you get an awesome New York Strip steak, potato, salad and vegetable. It's not the absolute best steak I've ever had but it was pretty high up on the list. Not what you'd expect for 5 bucks. Our server said he ate there all the time cuz he couldn't even buy a steak at a gorocery store for that price. My wife and I each got a steak dinner and a couple beers each and our bill was 15 bucks. Not bad. Surfers is a little different to the rest of Australia. Similar to Bondi in the way that it's heavily geared toward the tourist market, so they jack up the price on everything! And you aren't kidding about the drink prices at nightclubs! Shooters was probably the worst. Melba's was ok as they had lot's of happy hours and The Shack was good one night when I went. They had a ladies night where the girls got one free drink every 30 mins. My wife doesn't really drink so she just kept going up to the bar to get the drinks and passed them to me

Busch is a beer that i can drink alot of and it doesnt fill me up .thats my reason for drinking it and its fairly cheap .

As sad as it sounds, I prefer Bud Light to Miller Lite to lots of other stuff, to MGD. My beer of choice for the summer so far is Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) . It's actually pretty tastey for a shitty beer. and because it's not so popular, it's usually the coldest beer in the bar :) its also cheap at the store so it's a good party beer. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's the comeback beer of 2007

And I belive only a true alcoholic can enjoy the finer things in life like cheap shitty beer. or is it the economical sense of shitty beer. or is it that if I learn to enjoy shitty beer, moderate tasting beer tastes like expensive beer. well hwatever. All I know is that 8 beers makes an ugly girl cute. I can get there with good tasting beer for $32, or I can get the same buzz for $14 still hvae $18 left over to feed the parking meter while I"m banging the broad in the back of my car. And then still have enough money to give her a quarter to call a cab.. and then still have enough money to buy go for breakfast with my wife. (it takes only 6 beers to forget I'm married)
