I haven't been able to see Denis' show either, but rent "The Ref." Great holiday movie, lol. I've never seen Cedric's show either, but I saw him live once, and I have "Original Kings of Comedy". Good rental!

And I *love* Chris Rock, haven't seen his show, lol, but great standup! And Martin Lawrence - with Tim Robbins in "Nothing To Lose," that was funnier than I expected. :)

We talking stand-up comics or comic actors as well?

Eddie Murphy goes at the top of both lists. I don't think there's ever been anybody better than Eddie in his prime.

I love Chris Rock, Bring the Pain is one of the funniest comic albums ever. No Cure For Cancer (Dennis Leary) is fuckin' brilliant too. Lewis Black and Bill Maher are both hysterical satirists. Dave Chapelle gets me rolling; he shot his last Showtime special here in SF and did an AWESOME bit about riding the buses in this town - had me on the floor laughing. Jim Bruer does a great standup act too. I think Dane Cook is my favorite of the young up-and-comers.

As for the comedic actors; John Cleese, Adam Sandler, Mike Meyers, Jason Lee, Billy Crystal, Kevin Kline, Sean William Scott, Jason Mewes (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob)

FUCK YES PUPPET! FUCKIN MITCH MAN! funniest mother fucker alive...

seen George Carlin...and George Lopez....both really funny...but mitch has got to be one of my favorites...along with dane cook and lewis black.

i used to do drugs....i still do but i useta too!

i wish they had a cinnamon roll incense.....cuz sometimes i want some..but i dont always have time to make a pan! i would rather light a stick! and have my roomates wake up with false hopes!

you will never see an "escelator out of service" sign. you will only see an "escelator temporarially stairs. sorry for the convienience"

that must have been a short meeting....they knew they wanted something with the word tree....so they had a meeting.

"how about tree?"
"no"
"double tree?"
"HELL YEA!!"

"meeting adjourned!"

i had my heart set on quadruple tree...and they were so close!

Keith, we can't do any more drugs because you already fucking did them all, alright! There's none left! We have to wait 'till you die and smoke your ashes! Jesus Christ! Talk about the pot and the fuckin' kettle."

Agreed on Mitch Hedberg.

"I want to be a race car passenger...just a guy who bugs the driver. 'Say, man, can I turn on the radio? You should slow down. Can I stick my feet out the window? Why do we gotta keep going in circles? Man, you really like Tide.'"

I also like Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin, Dane Cook, Jeremy Hotz, Margaret Cho and Jim Gaffigan. Oh, and Dana Carvey--that one HBO special was hilarious!

Mines gotta be Billy Connelly, Lee Evans, Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey

Eddie Izzard in his prime was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, and Ricky Gervais for his awkward, completely un-politically correct humour that im never sure if i should be laughing it is genius

I won't repeat all the other greats that were already mentioned. But I will say that I like Steven Wright.

Here's two of my favorite lines of his

1) I was going to buy some powdered water, but I couldn't figure out what to add
2) I hold the record for the largest seashell collection. i keep it scattered on beaches around the world.

Okay. I revised them a little cuz I'm too lazy to look for the literal quote to be verbatim, but you get the idea.

Gallagher is also pretty good. I like when he does the school lesson and how messed up the English language is.

When it comes to stand-up comedy Russel Peters is number one, then the whole blue collar comedy group, Chris Rock, Robin William skit about golf and so many more. I love stand-up comedy. I'd rather watch it than anything else.

How could I forget the stand up of Bill Cosby? If you don't like his shows that's one thing but the stand-up movie from "Bill Cosby Himself" is a must see talks all about drunks and drug users and dentists and stuff. Really you have to watch it. Hubby's not a fan of stand-up period but this one makes him laugh. Oh and has anyone ever heard Jimmy Fallon's Writting on the Bathroom Wall? Good stuff there too.
