$3.75 a liter here in Aruba. Not a big deal though. The islands only about 18 miles long and 6 miles at it's widest point, so there's not a lot of driving here anyway. BUT!!! It's only .12 cents a gallon 19 miles away in Venezuela. That's right! 12 cents a gallon!!!

That's sad, but when you break down the price of gas in the states it is amzing the amount that we pay per gallon that is "tax". I have gotta to believe it is worse for you folks.

I dunno, it's hovering around 2.80, 2.85 around here. It's hard to afford with only working part-time, but I know it could be a lot worse. I'm glad I have a 4 cylinder!

For comparison sake: 1 US Gal. = 3.785 liters....

$4.32 for the Gnappster

Lynette said, " $3.75 a liter here in Aruba"

$14.20 for Lynette.... ouch! Hon, you better walk!

I filled up at 2.99 / gal but I'm still kicking myself for not filling my tank before I went on vacation. The price of gas rose $.30 per gallon while I was gone. Also, the USD dropped in value as compared with the Euro by about $.05. Ouch!

But it's gettting so expensive to destroy the planet, can't we go back to $0.99/gallon with our huge SUV's and our average 1 1/2 hour one way commute.

I remember hitch hiking through Kansas in 1970 (god, I'm an old fart) and seeing gas for $.19/gal. It was during a "gas war*"

Gas war = gas prices artificially lowered to attract customers. The average price in that area was probably between $.25 and $.30...And then came the gas shortage of 1973 which was artificially produced by OPECs refusal to sell oil for a while. Gas prices shot up (  ) to about $.50 per gal. Detroit started to make smaller lemons...and I was stupid enough to buy a used Vega :puke:
