QUOTE(bondiguy @ Oct 11 2007, 06:48 AM) I gotta say I like a man who knows his liquor... I actually sell Cuervo in Aus and I was over at the distillery just outside Guadalajara earlier in the year. The especial is a little harsh for my taste but I like Cuervo Black or the 1800 range. Reserva de la Familia is beautiful! Tanqueray 10 is a lovely gin I tended bar for almost 8 years. My friends and I used to drink Jose for shots when we would go out. It's funny cause the bartenders would always put down lemons and salt and we would just want the Tequilla. I've never had the Black or the Reserva de la Familia. But the 1800 for me is like candy. Mmmmmmmmmm I find it almost funny how the industry turned to marketing distilled spirits. First it was scotch (at least in the US) with the single malts, then the specially aged small batch single malts, then they used the same techniques for Bourbon - Makers Mark, Bookers, Bakers, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden's (I LOVE this bourbon...gorgeous sipping whiskey) and then moved to tequilla. Remember when it was the white tequilla as the well brands - think Joe Cortez(Jose Cortez) and some others whose names are escaping me - and Jose Cuervo Gold was the Top Shelf or Call brand. Now the white/clear tequilla is the more favored. One I'm familiar with is the Anejo versions. I'll have to try the Tanqueray 10. But is that more of a straight drinking gin, versus mixing it? I've yet to develop my taste for the martini, but never say never.

I've yet to develop my taste for the martini, but never say never. Bar work huh? That would explain it... In Aus the popularity really lies with the gold tequila's, a little opposite to the states it would seem and even more popular are the premium tequila's such as the 1800 range, Patron etc. I love 1800 Anejo I must say, I am more of an Anejo fan than a blanco/silver fan Tanq 10 is a straight drinkin gin but it tastes awesome in a G&T, you just notice the difference. Tonic doesn't really mask the spirit. Where you wouldn't drink a nice single malt with cola (because cola masks the beauty of the spirit) a nice gin with tonic is great. Im not a Martini man either

I tended in a hotel for a while where many English, Irish and Scotsmen would stay for company business, and while I would NEVER consider "mixing" (shudders) something like a highland single malt scotch, those guys used to yuck it up all the time over how the Americans would ruin a proper glass of whiskey by putting ice in it or adding water.
I asked about the T10 cause imo, when you drink a mixed drink, you really shouldn't get too involved with the name (except for Tanqueray for me). I had a customer at an exclusive private club I worked when I was young tell me, and he had been a vodka drinker for longer than I was alive at the time, that for him they all tasted the same except for the the really standard well vodkas (Jacquins, Nikolai, Vladimir, etc). To him, he couldn't taste a significant difference, in relation to the difference in price, between Smirnoff and all the other populars of the time (Stoli, Ketel 1, Skyy, Grey Goose, etc).

I admit I like a dash of water in my single malt;s, just takes a little sharpness away. Vodka is Vodka imo aside from the really good stuff and that's just due to purification of the water they use. Mix anything into Vodka and all vodka's come up equal. Tequila however is much different. I need atleast a reposado tequile when im mixing with soda or lemonade and gin is gin but T10 is just a step above and like I said, in a G&T it's beautiful! QUOTE(icandoit @ Oct 12 2007, 11:44 AM) OK so I just found this jewel of a thread and I wanna know something. When am I going to see the sexy Kiana the way I've always dreamed? All of these pics that the legends of RMM speak of have never come across my eyes nor can I find them. Is it because I don't have enough posts yet? I guess I'm going to have to spend a little more time on here if that's the case. Kiana, thanks for bringing me back to this lovely place..I can't wait to really get started. Bondi's thread! QUOTE(Kiana @ Oct 13 2007, 08:19 AM) Hooray!... or bondi's hard drive! QUOTE(icandoit @ Oct 13 2007, 12:40 PM) I love how bondi's thread has 91! pages to go through in order to find them. lol I know I can just click the attachment button and see all of the attachments right away, but that's no fun... 91 pages of all killer, no filler haha

QUOTE(Kiana @ Oct 18 2007, 07:00 AM) Gloves? You're wading through gobs of cum and you're worried about your hands??? He heard it was good for you only if you ingest it without using your hands? QUOTE(Gnappster @ Oct 18 2007, 08:27 AM) I come to kiana's thread and what do I see but discussions of pay wading through gobs of cum wearing nothing but rubber gloves??? well I guess some things never change Yeah, but don't pretend you don't like it
