I guess it's time to knock off my 411. This will mostly be a consolidation of the things that have already been posted thru -out the site. I was born in a log cabin in Springfield, Illinois on February 12, 1809. Wait, that was Abe Lincoln, not me. I grew up living near the ocean in Portland,Maine.Of all the places I've been, I like it here the most. Played football and basketball in high school, then joined the Marine Corps. After Boot Camp at Parris Island, I was sent to Japan for a year which was an interesting place to be stationed. I was stationed on an Air Wing, and used to catch flights with the pilots as part of their training. You'd pack a bag and stand in line at 5:30 in the morning on the flight deck waiting to see if there was room for passengers on any of the flights. If there was, they would let you go,but until you were on the plane, you'd have no idea where you were going to land. Kind of makes it hard to pack, but I got to see some really interesting places. Taiwan, Phillipines, Korea, Hiroshima. When I came back, I spent some time in North Carolina. Most of my duties revolved around dispursing cash. I also was a weapons instructor in the Air Force. Upon discharge, I went to university and got my B.A. in Business. Then, my brother and I started a moving business, which now has me traveling around the U.S. Never married, but steady GF. Love riding motorcycles, which until last July I used to do everyday. My bike got totaled, now I sit on my ass and log onto RMM. I've never play a video game or Play Station or owned a computer until I got this one two months ago. I can put a 7.62mm round thru a three inch target at 100 yards, but I can't figure out how to post pictures on the threads. I can figure out how to get a Grand Piano out thru a second story window, but I can't figure out how to add a photo attachment to a PM. I've got some learning to do.

Here's something I did recently that will interest anyone who's into rifles. I tried out a Barrett .416. This weapon is almost unbelievable. It's lethal at 2500 yards! For all you non-math majors, that's a mile and a half. It can do it because the round stays supersonic over most of that distance. When you shooting thru paper targets, like we were, you need to take into account that the round can travel as far as FIVE miles. First shot, cold bore, I put it in the black at 2500 yards, after warming up with a .50 caliber. The scope we were using was incredible. If you like shooting, you'll love this weapon. The barrett .416 is on the left, .50 cal. on the right. Attached image(s)

I know nothing about shooting as I have never shot a gun. Things are different in Aus, people tend not to carry guns in their homes unless they are criminals.
My brother however has recently acquired his gun license to further his career and he says the thrill of shooting is unbelievable!

It's kinda strange when you first start firing large caliber pistols or rifles. In the movies when someone gets hit by a .45 slug, it knocks them right off their feet. That's complete bullshit. All the westerns you see where the bad guy gets blown off his horse or off a roof is totally just for effect. If a round had enough force to knock the victim off his feet, it would also knock the shooter off HIS feet. (Newton's Law-For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction.)

And since they let closeup near it, I'm sure it won't be long :P I gotta look that up on youtube or something. My brother however has recently acquired his gun license to further his career and he says the thrill of shooting is unbelievable! It's pretty much like that in Canada too. Almost no one owns a handgun. But here in Sask. every second person is a hunter so there are lots of rifles, shotguns and .22s around. My father in law is a hunter so I've shot .22s and , the biggest thing I ever shot was a high powered rifle. It's pretty cool blowing a hole through a target, or whatever is besides the target, cuz that's what I usually hit. QUOTE(closeup @ Feb 8 2007, 12:39 AM) Tell him if he ever gets the chance to try the .416. wow! only in America ;) and, Does she come with the gun? Well hunting isn't a big sport here so there's very little guns around. If you head out to the bush you can shoot feral pigs but not many people do that because it's dangerous and those pigs can fuck you up! The biggest thing I have shot is a super soaker! :P Spotted  Oh you... hehehe

Have been there...loved it! I love pubs like that, where people are real, conversations normal, nobody trying to dress to impress....not like these numerous phoney ass martini/wine bars in Atlanta, LA, NY, etc. (one good pub in ATL is "Brick Store"...it is awesome you guys can buy me a Belgian brew there anytime!) I like to go out in jeans & T's like this pic;)
Also am a real "hop head" and love the winter ales and IPA's. Problem is, after a few, I get so full and do not eat then I am screwed:)
