Ok damn that was a lot of reading to get through.
Cost of living in Sydney is fairly high but if you are earning A$65k you are on a good start. Will it be single income or dual? Single will be alot harder with housing prices etc. 12.5% Supperannuation is above the award rate of 9%. Leave loading of 17.5% is standard and you will basically recieve 17.5% of your monthly wage as a bonus every year. Some employers give it in a lump sum and some work it into your pay.
Country or rural areas will see you earn a whole lot more and the cost of living will be a whole lot less.
In regards to the exhange rate I am not sure what you want to know but we basically use the same money system as you guys. Dollars and Cents, it's just that ours aren't as valuable as the American Dollar. Having said that it is all in proportion and the only time you will see the difference is if you want to travel to the States.

Just a quick note hoping that Bondi has survived the cyclonic weather that slammed into his Country this past day. I know that Sydney is probably on the Southern side of the Continent, but I hope all is well for you and your countrymen
AND Women since we have seen such wonderful contributions of the Aussie Melons on here!
Be safe all

Be safe all B here here! On a side note, is $65K a normal wage for Australia? Cuz if so, I think I'm moving lol! Just for comparison sake, where is your dollar sitting now in relation to US? Ours was pretty low for the past 20 years or so but now is around .90 cents US. How is the Aus dollar doing in comparison as if I remember correctly it is usually pretty much in line with ours.

You will have more chance of dying in a car accident! QUOTE(Gnappster @ Mar 20 2006, 11:30 AM) here here! On a side note, is $65K a normal wage for Australia? Cuz if so, I think I'm moving lol! How is the Aus dollar doing in comparison as if I remember correctly it is usually pretty much in line with ours. I could not tell you positively the average wage but I believe it is closer to 50k than 65k. 65k is a pretty good salary, more than I am one! :P The Aussie dollar is either in line or just behind the American dollar. Today it was 1 canadian dollar buys 1.19 Aussie dollars! To the rest of you, sorry to scare you but I am fine! The cyclone that hit Australia hit in the far north of the country and I am just a little south of the unofficial middle of the country on the east coast. The storm was a category 5 and was pretty horrific, not sure the death toll is high but damage is BIG. It was likened to Hurricane Katrina but the big difference is the cities it hit were smaller and built ABOVE sea level meaning flooding is minimal to non existent!

Dear All,
The time has come for me to once again say an extended goodbye to you all. I have been toying with the idea for sometime now as some of you may be aware but I am now biteing the bullet so to speak.
The Reason: I just dont have the time anymore. I have found that this is eating into the time I have set aside for other things and I just can't allow that to happen anymore. I used to be able to pop in for 15 minutes but it is no longer the case. Between work and other commitments I have, least of all getting married within 12 months my time is of the essence and unfortunately something had to give.
I mean no disrespect to the new people here and others I have come to know and like but this place just isn't what it used to be... and that is sad.
For those of you who have come to know me well enough over time this is by no means goodbye as you will know the avenues in which i can be contacted. PM me if you must
For the rest I will pop into my 411 from time to time to say but do to many factors that will be about the extent of my involvement here. I will be able to come online once or maybe twice more this week before my own personal deadline expires and then I'll be gone.
I have really enjoyed most of my time here and got to meet some wonderful people. Not only wonderfully sexy females but great people both men and women.
Someone is going to have to really pick up the slack with posting on the boards.... it's not an easy job being a board whore!
Keep on rockin...
-bondiguy
