hey everyone... whether you're single or not, i'd appreciate your input on this one...

what are one or two of your favorite dates that you've been on... things that were either romantic, or fun, or a bit of everything? or if you've never been on it, what would be your ideal date?

i'm not looking for "dinner and a movie" or "we went to a bar, got drunk, and came home to have crazy sex all night long"... while i don't disagree that those could both be fun, i'm looking for creative, original thoughts

well most of my dates were pretty much the "we went to a bar, got drunk, and came home to have crazy sex all night long" so i dunno if i can help you.

i WILL say, try not to do anything they do on Blind Date. lol

it depends whether its a date as in not the first or its the first..

One of my best dates was when I went to a Seal concert the tickets were a surprise to me at the time as this was about 13 years ago and we didnt have much money we had not long been dating and it was a great night!

Generally somewhere you can chat and get to know each other I would say if you want to get acquainted!

ok... sorry, guess i need to specify...

not a first date... someone you've been dating for a long time so you already know each other well, but still want to do something fun/exciting or romantic to keep things fresh and fun...

ok like I said then go to a concert! or go on a nice hol together somewhere nice or just a romantic weekend break!

Go to the Zoo :P

done that/do that... chicago has a great zoo right on the lakefront

Its carnival season over here.... any local fairs going on? A nice walk in the park? Picnic (if the weather is right)? Take a cooking or dance class?

I dunno man... ever watch the show "blind date"? They do all inds of fun stuff :P

yeah, i've seen it... some of the stuff looks good, some just seems "blah"

i guess i was more getting at... if you could picture your ideal date that's more than just "dinner and a movie" or "dinner and dancing", what would it be? or if you have one or two dates that stick in your memory as being really really good, what were they and what made them so good? am i making any sense?

Something unexpected and out of the ordinary...a trip in a hot air balloon...tickets to the theatre...ballet...(ok, depends on taste..) Need not be expensive...turning up with a packed picnic hamper, couple bottles of wine and visit the local park....ditto after dark complete with candles...booking into a hotel rather than going home..basically showing that you have made an effort and thought about it!

Well to be honest.... really good dates have not so much to do with what you're actually doing, and moreso to do with the company you keep.

One of the best dates I had was just going for a walk in the park, then watching the sunrise sitting on top of a school bus in a field :2thumbsup: And it was mainly because we both really enjoyed each others company. I can have a blast just sitting around doing nothing - with the right person.

It's all about good vibes and good coversation! (and hopefully this leads to fantastic sex afterwards lol)

i completely agree with all of that (especially the fantastic sex part afterwards, lol)...

and i'm totally into the company i'm keeping... i just wanted to see if people had been on some really unique or memorable dates b/c even though the company is good, i don't want things to become too routine and have her (or me, especially) start taking things for granted...

To be honest my girl loves it when we have nothing planned, we just hope in the car, and I drive to wherever the road takes me. It could be 15 minutes away, or it could be 2 hours away, whatever. Just drive somewhere new. Once you are there find something to do wherever you have landed, enjoy the night/day. Have a drink or two before coming home and have some great sex. My girl loves it when we do that!

yea you just need to chill J no point in thinkin your gonna take each other for granted you just need to talk and be there for each other....have you got a dog? if not get one and go for nice walks together and play fight etc thats what I have done today and it was fun it just cost me about a dollar for car parking :)

J if you're in Chicago and the gf likes to drive then take her to Detroit,they have some really great bars out there.And if you want to you two can cross the bridge into Canada and go gamblin. This way you can talk to her during the drive. works for me and my wife.we live in Michigan and the drive is nice and the weekend is a BLAST.and sex in a hotel is always the best

not sure the type of thing you mean, i had a great date with my husband a couple of weeks ago, empty house, i filled the lounge with candles laid a blanket on the floor and had an indoor picnic... i dressed in really sexy underwear thong quarter cup bra heels and bought champagne, lots of easy picky finger food to feed each other and some haagen daaz ice cream which we spead over each other and licked off he had no idea what i had planned so total surprise..

that sounds really nice :)

it was fun, a picnic plus we could do whatever we wanted without worrying, i like the thrill of getting caught but this meant no rushing... banoffee ice cream was a bad choice though..... very sticky...

for a first date start with a movie and dinner and just go from there.
but if you have been dating, than anything that you have not done with that person would be nice.(like a walk on the beach, its nice out take that person camping.) any thing would work. think about things that person likes doing and do them with her\him!!!

Some of the best planned dates went really really bad mostly because weather caused major problems (stories better for some other time). The best dates (like Sussed2 said) were the company. When possible we would take days trips (to just about anyplace), eventully visiting all of the Missouri wineries. Turned out wines were one of the few things we had in common.
