What is funny about that is that there was a story done recently on the news about how Canadians are stiffing waitresses when it comes to tips...I found the article here...Canadians And Tipping

Without turning bunni's thread into a snooze-fest there is a reason why Aussies don't tip like the Americans do.

It comes down to your lousy government and minimum wage. Waiters and Waitresses here actually earn pretty good money, especially on the weekends whereas in the states I am led to believe they'd be lucky to earn a few buck an hour without tips?

Aussies will tip after a meal if we think the food was good and the service was great. If not, we won't give a tip. In the States, hospitality workers EXPECT a tip, even if they do a lousy job, and even better tip if they do an adequate job, and an even BIGGER tip if they actually go above and beyond!

I think it is true though that I know at least here in Canada the minimum wage is cheaper for waiters and waitresses based upon the fact that they are expected to make tips, but yeah enough of the snooze-fest I think back to the main reason this thread was made for the hot and sexy bunni

We have pretty fair penalty rates here in Aus. On weekends wait staff can make a good amount of money. We still do tip here, but it is bourne out of a want to tip, not an obligation.

We dont tip bar staff for pouring a beer though, unless it is a woman wearing revealing clothing
