I'd love to see the video you two could create. It'd be better then "One Night in Paris". I'll buy the taxi to the airport, if Gnappy buys the plane ticket. (Here's Gnappy's idea of flying cheaply)

Airfare over here has gotten pretty reasonable lately if you research enough. Roundtrip tix to Wash could prolly be had for about $400, depending on the days you fly.

For $1000 I'd gladly escort the lovely Hott to the west coast and document her encounter with Cangirl.

It's cheaper than $400. I just flew Delta from Portland, Or. to Portland, Me,(3200 miles) for $124.00. Gnappy could scrounge that up by taking back his returnable bottles and checking for loose change under the sofa cushions.

$100. in taxes is outrageous. I guess we won't be seeing you at the Cangirl/Hott rendezvous, unless you pick-up some additional subscribers on your morning paper route.

If you saw what most western countries pay in tax on just about everything compared to you guys, you would never complain about taxes again.
We, as well as most of Europe, and probably Australia, pay more tax on fuel, alcohol, cigarettes, income tax, airline tax, etc etc etc.
Our fuel taxes in Canada are bad but we're still not nearly as fucked as they are in Europe.

If I would like to fly from here where I´m live to my parents it would cost twice as much as we flew to Berlin last autumn...and I think that we paid taxes about 10e/person then.

I pay a ton of tax on diesel fuel. It used to be diesel was cheaper than unleaded. Now, it's 60-75 cents more expensive. That adds up quick when you buy 100-120 gallons at a time.Maine is considering adding another $1.00 tax (on top of $2.00 already) on a pack of smokes. I was considering taking up the habit of smoking because I've heard so many good things, but not if they're tax me to death.

diesel fluctuates with gas prices here. sometimes more than gas, but usually less. right now it is more. we sell in litres but it works out to about $3.61/gallon for diesel and $3.32/gallon for unleaded gas.
pack of smokes is about $10.00
case of 12 beer is about $18.00

and smoking isn't all it's cracked up to be. it makes is harder to drink 2 beer at once :alc:

$10.00 for a pack of cigarettes? I could make a fortune if I filled up a truck down in North Carolina@ $20.00-$25.00 a carton and drove them to Canada. After I got out of jail and paid off my lawyer, I'd STILL have a tidy profit.

haha, it's been done and yes they went to jail.

but even the beer price is attrocious. that's why I now make my own.
a guy could go broke if he had to go out and pay that much every time he wanted to drink 18 or 20 beers.

It really makes you question the governments' stance against smoking, drinking and gambling. If people stopped indulging their vices tomorrow, the gov't would be broke in about a week.

You are spot on Gnappy.

Cop this shit, in Australia I have to pay income tax as most of the world does. On top of that we pay a 10% GST (Goods and Services Tax) on pretty much EVERYTHING except fresh food. Bread, fruit, milk etc.

Now, in theory it's not so bad because sales tax on stuff like cigarettes and alcohol is astronomical so we figure, bringing it down to 10% would save as loads of cash. WRONG! These things are still taxed at extraordinary rates, Cigarettes something like 70% or more and alcohol isn't great either. Fuel is ridiculous, the government takes 10% for GST, as well as over 50c a litre in extra taxes.
