QUOTE(Gnappster @ Oct 19 2006, 02:04 PM) well we had cable when it first came out here in probably 1980 or so, but for us cable tv was 13 channels and no adult type channels. That came in probably 83 or 84 but we never got those. We didn't even get a VCR til 86. But once in awhile the paytv channels would have a free preview week. Then it was as much boob tv as I could cram in while my parents were sleeping. We only had one channel when we first got it. We would have to set the TV on channel 3 and press the button on the HUGE Spectrum box. My parents will have the special antenna on the roof. It later went out of business. there was another company called OnTV or something like that. they had a few more channels, I think. We got our VCR and video camera assembly in like '81 or '82. the VCR was huge and the tape holder thingy flipped up from the top. the video camera came with 2 bags. One to hold the camera, and the other one to hold the separate VCR. for some reason, I had seen lots of boobs on television. Not sure how it happened, though. Just lucky I guess. I remember my parents would run in front of the TV and hold a pillow against the screen when something like that would come on. It would piss me off, though, then they would go up and block the screen, but still peer over the pillow and be able to see the screen. Nowadays, boobs are all over the place. I imagine my kids will be exposed to porn at a very young age. I wonder if my kids and your kids will be RMM friends.

I imagine my kids will be exposed to porn at a very young age. We had these big sigma cable boxes. well we didn't but that is what you needed if you wanted all the pay channels. I remember those archaic top loading VCR's. A friend of mine had one and it had a wired remote. Ours that we got in 86 was pretty modern, it weighed only about 30 lbs. I don't think my parents ever had to cover screen. My dad never watched movies, only sports and more sports, the news, and three's company(lots of bouncing tits there, but none uncovered). I remember those "portable" video cameras. A parent on my hockey team used to tape our games. He'd walk around with this giant camera and videotape/battery pack like he was Steven Spielbergo. We never had anything like that though. My parents' tech savviness died with the 8-track player in the 70s. QUOTE(Bobaloo @ Oct 19 2006, 12:14 PM) I wonder if my kids and your kids will be RMM friends. Sure, then we can get, "My kid's a Double-D poster at ratemymelons.com" bumperstickers

I forgot about the cabled remotes. our main VCR had IR, but the camera VCR, which was two separate units that would plug in to each other, had teh cabled remote. My friend had a front loading VCR, but it had a cable remote. haha. 8 track player. I remember those. We also used to have a hi-fi. it was like a huge piece of furniture just to play some freakin' records! QUOTE(Gnappster @ Oct 19 2006, 02:33 PM) Sure, then we can get, "My kid's a Double-D poster at ratemymelons.com" bumperstickers Now if we only knew someone who could design them and print them out for us. Oh, well. I'm sure over time we'll run into someone here who'll have that capability.
