ya know I finally got Season 3 of the Simpsons and I watched the pop up episode first of Colonel Homer. They should totally do that with every episide...it was even better than the commentaries, although the easter egg commentary on the michael jackson episode was pretty good.
Well I just thought I'd post that here. I wouldn't want to derail any topics with miscellaneous Simpsons argle bargle.

It's about damn time. Isn't it great. i wish there were more pop-up simpsons. I missed the easter egg commentary on the michael jackson ep. I wasn't die-hard into the commentaries till mid season 3. I would just check 'em out when I thought of it... you know, like watch 3 in a row then go back to all the commentaries. Now I watch an ep, then again with commentaries immediately afterward. Not that you needed that whole explanation.

so anyway... how do you get to the easter egg for it... or is it pretty easy.

I think season 3 is my fav season ever. Has some of the best shows ever. The easter egg for the Michael Jackson is accessed by just going to the 5th audio track-the 4th is the regular commentary(which I haven't listened to yet), the 5th is just Mike Reiss explaining some anecdotes about working with Michael Jackson for this episode ie. Michael Jackson voiced Leon Kompowsky but refused to do the singing parts. He also wrote Lisa's birthday song as well as The Bartman(both uncredited).

Now that I've ruined it for you, there is probably little need to watch it yourself :P

that's awesome. I just had a customer pay with a Simpsons check. I'd post a pic of it, but I don't have my camera here and it has all her personal info on it. But it's still cool. I gave her a slight discount for it.

You wouldn't want it. She's broke and unattractive. there's no reason to persue her. Actually, she is a very sweet girl... and there is the fact that she likes the Simpsons

Firstly, and probably most integral to any proper easter egg hunt, do you believe in the Easter Bunny?

an easter egg isn't something you just watch the movie for. You have to find it.

Here are some that I found on a quick search... I know there's tons more.

Pixar movies are also known for having lots of easter eggs. Those animators are a comic bunch.

You usually have to follow a certain sequence in a menu or go to a sub menu and highlight something then move the cursor in a way you wouldn't normally expect to. sometimes you have to watch all the extras in a sub-menu and a new item will pop up. Google easter eggs and you'll come up with some sites that will list 'em out for you. be warned that a lot of people will submit things that aren't really easter eggs at all, but are things that poeple who actually know how to watch a movie would notice.

Usually what is contained in an easter egg is an additional commentary, deleted scenes, games, things like that.

And then there's the 3-D version. Not to be confused with the 3d version which involves big-breasted baby-sitters... which would still be pretty hot!
