So yesterday I'm looking through my email and see one from a woman named Liz with a subject line of hi I'm Liz from ratemymelon. The email seemed pretty innocent (but grammatically terrible) and stated she had seen my email address on here and asked me to email her back so we could chat. I thought it weird that she emailed instead of pm'd but I was curious so I emailed back. Tonight I received the response and in it this woman spins this sad tale of how she lived in Darfur and her parents had been killed. She then goes on to ask for a bunch of personal information and to help transfer funds out of her late fathers bank account (apparently he was wealthy and stashed all his money) to my own and then to hers and goes on that she'll use it to meet me and then has some generic pictures. Now I tell you about this because in case any of you get this email please be smart and do not give her the information and what not. This could be bad in any number of ways ranging from identity theft to them trying to empty your accounts to funding terrorist organizations (seems a little extreme I know but more likely than her story).
