Password gone AWOL?, Is it just me, or are there others?

"Fair enough," I thought, and gave it my email to find out what'd happened there, just in case my account got caught in the update. Let's just say that what came back really didn't make a lot of sense, but what's more bizairre is that, according to the little message on the forums, I ~am~ logged in (hence why I can post), so I'm baffled. Any chance I could have my password reset to something written in alphanumeric, instead of unicode? And is anyone else having this kind of problem?
