The actresses looked like people you might actually see in real life, and not some teenage runaway who got picked up at the bus station.

People looked like they enjoyed themselves when "getting busy", not bent into a pretzel and practically tossed out of a moving car when the scene was over.

There was actual cunnilingus in the scene.

NOT shot completely in first-person style, by a washed-up, greasy troll like Ed Powers.

Bondi, I never did get to see what passes for porn in Australia -- ironically.  My perception, from my limited experience there, is that you guys don't have NEARLY as much of it sitting around in newsstands, book stores, and video stores as in the U.S.  However, I think the sheer volume of stuff in the U.S. is a little much.  And it is all short clips. 

Moreover, a production mentality has set in where most of the women are "barely legal" and look almost bewildered at how they got on the set in the first place.  I don't enjoy that, because I'd like to think that the person is an educated and enthusiastic participant.  Combine that with Max Hardcore-style clips, where the woman seems to be some kind of high-school experiment rather than a sex partner, and it becomes a turn-off for me.

A more extreme example is what I have seen of Japanese porn.  Virtually every clip I've seen, the woman seems to be uncomfortable and almost there against her will.

Due to laws and guidelines "adult bookstores" are well hidden. They usualy have signage that only comes out at night and are confined to certain places in the city. Most of the porn we get comes straight from the States.

That might be true. Girls need to feel they could be the women in the movie... and It's not so easy when the heroine of the story looks like she's all plastic, is wearing a blonde wig and wants desperately to get smothered with jizz. 

Sometimes that might work too, tho... 

But back to the topic, old porn movies have that little something the newest productions don't. (Besides the pubic hair)
