There have been 14, read it 14 recorded cases of Fatal attacks on humans by sting rays... WORLDWIDE!!!! Only the 3rd ever recorded case in Australia. Steve lived and breathed animals and he had people believe he was just some crazy aussie but he was a very very smart man. He knws animals inside and out and he was always safe. This was nothing mroe than a freak accident! I have snorkled among rays before and they are the most placid animals in the ocean. It is a sad day for his family, for the conservation of the environment and animals worldwide (he gave millions upon millions of money to the cause every year) and for Australia.
