Doing heavy industrial stuff...oil and gas extraction, mining, etc.

We've thought about going out west, but family is here and it's home, so probably stick around the Ohio/PA/WV area for now and maybe later head out that way...the bf said as long as we don't move to a state with crappy gun laws he was okay with it tongue.gif

I would love to go back to Columbus, but no manufacturing or anything remotely resembling industry there, unless you count honda, and I don't really wanna work for an auto company. Prolly end up working the frac sites around here...I hate northern/central WV, I can't wait to get outta here!

I love the mountains but I miss the farmland! Nice flat fields of corn =) *sigh*

My company has people working in the PA area right now. The economy has slowed the progress but its moving none the less. If you wanna make the big bucks South Dakota/Montana is the place to be, good luck finding lodging thou lol. CO/NM/WY/UT are still moving but waiting to see what happens in the political near future.

Tell your BF thats why i always called CO home...one of the last of the relitivly free states lol. 2thumbs.gif

Texas, Dakotas, and Washington state seem to be where a lotta people are going at least in my area these days...and states on the gulf coast, but hell if I'm gonna live down there...bleh. I need a bit less...humidity/tornados/huricanes lol

But as far as lodging goes...that's what campers or trailers are for...I think it would be kinda neat to live off the grid anyways, always kinda been a dream of mine

Utah and Montana have the most liberal gun laws, altho I'm sure CO is not too far off. He said no way to IL, CA (duh), and NY..oh and DC lol we hate cities anyway so I'd rather stay away from new england...too yuppy for us. I've never actually been to Colorado, but been to Wyoming, which was probably one of my fave places I've ever been....we were in the cloud peak wilderness area...camping in June it snowed..lol

Ya Texas si busy too, we have guys working down that way as well. I was in ND about 2 months ago and spent $225 a night to secure a room at a 1 star motel that i doubted deserved any stars!!! We thought the same thing about sending campers up there with the guys till we found out there was nowhere left to camp lol.

Ive lived off the grid more than once in my life and all thou very challenging it can be very rewarding as well 2thumbs.gif . I can understand no New England states. After to short amount of time ive spent in eastern PA and NY im done there. No knocks to somebody that likes it there but after growing up out west its not for me. CO and WY are similiar but offer very diffrent terrain as a whole. I grew up in NW CO and have ended up back there after my many travels. WY has some beautiful scenery thou i must say. As as far as snow i have seen it fall in CO in any month of the year tongue.gif

As far as campers go...public lands! They are like, all over the place in ND and SD and while occasionally they are leased to graze, the public technically owns them, so BLM lets people camp there fee-free. I don't know what the restrictions are, but it kinda useful for short-term anyways lol we did it one night in SD near the badlands cuz we got tired of driving laughing-smiley-014.gif

I'm mixed on the snow...I like it, but not so much I want it every month of the year. I have an ex I'm friends with from Texas who lives in CO Springs now with the AF and he says even after living in Ohio for years the snow bugs him there in CO. I like to snowshoe, but not ski or any of that, so I dunno. I kinda like the weather in the 60s, blue skies haha I wanna live somewhere I have that all year coco.gif blink.gif

I know all about public lands darlin, CO is like 90% public lands. Problem is its not always where ya need it tongue.gif . Around Minot, ND where our guys are at theyve had such a influx of people its been tough to carve out a spot to camp. And that area has a pretty high concentration of private property which doesnt help.

lol well CO aint for you then, its 4 degrees at my house tonite and i have had snow on the ground for almost a month lol. probably wont see steady 60's till may or june lol. I spent a winter in south TX where we didnt have snow, now that was damn weird for my mountain mentality lol.

I've always thought I would like Texas =) ...guns, bbq, and guys in wranglers & cowboy boots.....*sigh*

my trip to ND (way home from Wyoming/MT) was pretty uneventful. Lotta boring grassland-ish stuff and a gas station where you could order McDonalds at the pump...gotta kick outta that. Otherwise a lotta nothing & wind turbines. I think I could do ND, but I'd prefer a lil more mountains over prairie if I'm moving so far from home/corn lol

I know it sounds dumb, but I really love Ohio<3 haha esp. the SE part where I'm from

It's cuz u guys have all the good mountains! I would wanna go back to those mountains, I loved the rockies! I live in a lil holler here in WV and the mountains here are all gross and strip-mined out, there's no trees on them and it's just bare and ugly. The creek is full of yellowboy and just nasty. As a fellow outdoorsy type, I'm sure you can understand my frustration! lol I'm not one of those eco-hippie types (clearly) but still...!

I have all the good hippie traits but none of the bad rolleyes.gif haha liberal in all the right areas 08.gif

I went from animal research to energy/oil/gas I find it hard to stay friends with...that type lol

I think if money wasn't an issue, I could be a farmer type (not like, commercial ag) just kinda work the land, hunt on the side, raise some livestock. It would be fun, midwest or all the way west. East yea, over it. I did say I hate cities but I kinda love Chicago, it's a true midwestern town, I really enjoyed myself there =) so maybe if I was an hour or so away from Chicago, or Columbus or something....

meh. I went to bed at 6 AM for a few days in a row, then slept all day...my sleep is all messed up. Kinda just aimlessly awake, not awake enough to write these proposals, but not tired enough to sleep smilio04.gif

schoolgirl photo I'll have to work on. I have a few blowjob ones I took for the bf a ways back with that just naughty enough pair of glasses on, but I don't want to post face pics on RMM or zoig...

I'll figure it out lol
