RMM Message Board _ Site Help and Information _ Search Options

Posted by: Gnappster Aug 15 2006, 12:01 PM

There is a search function here but it is pretty basic--enter your terms and it will find all threads that match those terms whether in the thread titel or subsequent posts.
I know there is an option on Invision Boards to setup a more advanced search where you can search titles or posts(or both). Also when I search for a term it tells me the thread that it's in but not where in the thread. Not much help when a thread is 50 pages or more long.
I know it can be setup so that search results are given with the actual post that you searched for.
Any chance of getting any of this stuff up and running. Would (hopefully) help out more with the duplicate threads people make.

I know, but it's based off an Invision Power Board and I've seen other Invision Power Board Forums with more advanced searches.

agreed 110%

I use ti EVERY time I think about starting a thread. i.e the other day I wanted to talk about the TV show LOST, I searched for television, got a list of about 20=25 threads that featured that word and found the most appropriatly titled thread and posted... fucking easy
