RMM Message Board _ Site Help and Information _ Password gone AWOL?

Posted by: Avvilimento Apr 18 2005, 06:33 AM

Not sure what the deal is, but tonight I wasn't able to log in because of an invalid password. "Fair enough," I thought, and gave it my email to find out what'd happened there, just in case my account got caught in the update. Let's just say that what came back really didn't make a lot of sense, but what's more bizairre is that, according to the little message on the forums, I ~am~ logged in (hence why I can post), so I'm baffled.

Any chance I could have my password reset to something written in alphanumeric, instead of unicode? And is anyone else having this kind of problem?

Works like a champion now, guys. Kudos to your programmer.

Curiously, what was actually up with it?

Well basically you all were doing all my beta testing for me, and one of the things that is particularly hard to do is keep people logged in after doing all the things like voting, hitting the message board etc..

So we were improving the login features via cookies, and you all basically had old cookies in your systems that were persistently set (wouldn't go away) and the new cookies we implemented wouldn't set with the old cookies there... yadadada.. we had to get your systems to completely get rid of all our old cookies and take on a new set of cookies for you to work.
