RMM Message Board _ Shoot The Breeze _ Christmas Tree Up Already?

Posted by: Imagirlwatcher Nov 28 2005, 11:58 AM

I usually wait until two weeks before Christmas but on a lot of people put theirs up the day after Thanksgiving (a month before Christmas for those keeping score at home)

I did, however, decorate the house with lights this weekend. 2thumbs.gif

Posted by: Gnappster Nov 28 2005, 01:25 PM

Not to get back on topic or anything, but I'm in the process now. Had to take the bottom 3 rows off because the tree was eating my dining room. blink.gif Who knew a 7 1/2 foot tree had to be 6 feet across?? laughing-smiley-014.gif

Posted by: COMEDYMAN Nov 29 2005, 04:56 PM

Had to replant my fake one in a flower put cause th ebase cracked laughing-smiley-017.gif

Posted by: Teshinun Nov 29 2005, 06:13 PM

I wont be having one this year. My roomate is going to his familys house and I'm going to my familys house so there really isn't a reason to put up a tree other than to say "damn dog" often. Actualy, I don't know if he would pee on the tree... I'd wrather not find out though smile.gif

Posted by: sweetnsexy Nov 29 2005, 09:17 PM

We leave it two weeks before to set up the tree and house lights - any sooner and my husband would be complaining at the number of bulbs he has to replace! And why is that the bulbs that go are always the most inaccessible?

Everyone knows about the legend of santa and his elves. The untold story is of Grog and his goblins, they break the decorations when your not looking.

If you want to save a few bucks, shop for your tree on Dec. 26. It's a good time to buy things like wrapping paper and Christmas cards too.

and you can get really cheap Superbowl tickets if you go the day AFTER the game tongue.gif

Posted by: mountainlust Nov 30 2005, 04:16 PM

Y'all make me laugh like no other... "damn dog" and sweetnsexy's pic and comment about the tree up her ass...so funny.
I love christmas lights and all, and i'm sure I'll be more in the mood for getting a tree and ornaments one day, but I'm not sure i'll get into it this year. Probably going to family's for it anyway.

Phase One: Collect Underpants
Phase Three: Collect Profits
"What about Phase Two?"

I think me and Gnappy should take Jrock on board for our financial advice column, he can be Phase Two.

Posted by: ontippytoes Nov 30 2005, 06:03 PM

Back to the original topic, we'll be getting our tree soon, unfortunately. I don't like Christmas. We deck the house out and usually get a few trees. It's sick!

It was "South Park" you were referencing. Did they ever figure out what Phase Two was?

Posted by: mountainlust Nov 30 2005, 06:17 PM

So, does that mean I don't have to do Christmas this year since I don't have anything in my bank account?

You'd be the perfect customer for our advice column. The less you like Christmas, the more you'll want to save. Another tip: You know those big red kettles you see in the malls around Christmas? They're full of cash! That guy standing there ringing the bell is too busy checking out all the hot women walking by to pay any attention to you. You'll only have a few seconds, so go for the tens and twenties.

Posted by: sweetnsexy Nov 30 2005, 10:00 PM

I'm getting all blonde and confused again here....so you guys are collecting your underpants.....is there some sort of secret section on e-bay you're working on...? .....where do I find it?!

We just got off on a tangent. This topic seemed a little restrictive, so we went ahead and posted anything that came to mind. Which in this case was South Park and "How to Save Money at Christmas".

laughing-smiley-014.gif

Yeah, I saw one of those kettles the other day at the grocery store with a rather portly gentleman standing next to it. I know i'm no marathon runner, but I'd be willing to bet the 10's and 20's in that bucket that I coulda grabbed that thing and already been depositing it before he coulda given much chase... nah.gif

However, in the chance that i did tumble to the ground in my hastey escape, that rather portly gentleman (who could've been a linebacker back in the day for all I know) probably woulda made certain that I would be enjoying Christmas dinner through a straw this year...
