QUOTE(jrock8 @ Jan 8 2006, 11:45 PM) so how did your team do this weekend? win? lose? sitting at home b/c they didn't make the playoffs? well my bears are getting some well deserved rest and relaxation... let's see how carolina enjoys coming to town and playing in the cold next week... beat them once already w/orton at qb... it's gonna be fun to see what a half-way decent offense might be able to do... and even if it's not much, that defense is still going to hit them hard The first round bye isn't always a desireable thing. Depends on the team of course, but for your sake, I hope the rust doesn't hang around for too long. As far as Carolina being unable to play in cold weather, didn't they just do that and win? And I apologize for sounding so insensitive when talking abut Palmer. When I said it, I didn't know how serious the injury was. I thought they just took him out for the game, not completely blew out his knee. I feel bad for the guy, the team and the entire town of Cincy for that matter. He is a rising star on a team that was finally on the upswing. They were fun to watch and here's to a speedy recovery.

Nice guys finish last.

I've always thought the first round bye was a mixed blessing. Yeah, you get a couple of weeks off to rest and heal, but you don't know who you're facing until a week into it. These guys get into a routine over the course of a season, play, rest, practice, play, ect. It's not like the bye week in the season where it gives you two weeks to study and prepare for your next opponent, like Indy had for the Pats. Obviously, you stand a chance of losing by playing, but by winning, you get to keep the seasons' momentum going. In the same way, wrapping up the division title and home field advantage early, making the last few games meaningless, is no advantage going into the play-offs either. I think this has been why Indy has never won a Super Bowl, they peak too early. It's also a good part of the reason the Pats keep winning, and are going to win this weekend. If you need futher convincing, see my previous posts. Go Pats.

Wow, who woulda thunk it, neither the Bears nor the Panthers defense could do much stopping today. Anyways what a couple of games. I know I had counted them out, but way to go Steelers, was waving my TT the whole game. Go Steelers, might be a great way to send the Bus down the road, a coming home party in Detroit.

Work in progress.

I'd like to thank the Patriots, the Redskins, the Colts and the Bears for participating in this year's NFL Playoffs. Be sure to pick up your commemorative t-shirts and hats on your way out. Booyah! My Steelers handle the Colts, overcoming adversity in the form of a potential game-losing fumble at the one yard line and the refs trying to steal the win away from Pittsburgh and giving it to Indy on an blatantly bad call. It was obvious to everyone, including the announcer team that it was an interception and that dude had control of the ball, before knocking it out with his own knee. You watched it over and over. You knew it. And could you believe it when the call was reversed? I sure couldn't. This ranks up there with "Coin toss-gate". And then the fumble...WTF!!!!! Thank God for having a quarterback who's got some legs underneath him. You've seen the play many times, and any other day, the quarterback gets turned around and falls on his ass. But not today...er yesterday. Anywho...on to Denver! "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round..."
